Bengalia

  • Williamson Triplets

The following are character sketches and sample art from Bengalia, a mature fantasy/adventure comic coming soon from Alice and Andy Price!  Our first exciting issue, "The Crystal Spider", thrusts you head first into a world similar to our own, yet filled with mystery, magic, danger, and demons.  Where else can you find murderous Orcs, smart-mouthed Elves, and giant Dwarves battling alongside a rifle-wielding hero in blue jeans?  Only in Bengalia!

ALL characters depicted herein are the sole property of Alice and Andy Price.

Heroes Con, etc.

Most of you probably know that Heroes Con in Charlotte is coming up in the next few weeks.  Andy is feverishly finishing up his current Marvel project so he can churn out some new art for the show!  I WISH I could show you guys the cards he's currently working on... it's absolutely amazing!  I can't, of course, show you pictures (yet), but let me just say that fans of 30's - 40's movie stars will LOVE these.  *gleep*

X-Men Archives Preview Art!

We haven't quite gotten the go-ahead to post the entirety of Andy's X-Men Archives work, and probably won't until the set hits the stores.  However, if you promise not to tell anyone (or spread them all over the interwebs), we'll give you a sneak peek of a few cards already finished.
*looks around all shifty-eyed*

Ok, have a look at these:

There's one more sneak preview image, but I'm saving that one for Andy's FB group.  If you are already a member, head on over there and see the other card!  If you aren't already a member, WHY NOT?!?!?!  See my links a few posts down about how to join Andy's group.

Batman Archives

Finally got the Batman Archives scans uploaded to the site.  They can be found to your right among the photo album links. Mostly there are whole page scans (4-6 cards each), but a few got special attention and were scanned individually.

Keep in mind, folks, that if you see any cards you like, Andy would be happy to recreate one just for you!

Fantastic Four Archives scans now up!

Please direct your attention a scant few inches to your right to view the complete Andy Price FFA card set.  I apologize for not scanning each card individually, but that would have taken WAAAAAAAY more time, and I'm sure you'd rather see them some time this decade.

Andy's super-special X-Men Archives set is nearing completion, finally!  Andy was asked to create a series of fully-painted cards to be given to retailers who ordered a certain number of boxes from Rittenhouse.  This means, ladies and gents, that these cards are going to be harder to find for your average card art collector.  Keep your eyes peeled!

Andy's art now on Facebook

Any fans of Andy's who have a Facebook account can now join the group "Fans of artist Andy Price"!  Just click here, and voila!  Instant gratification!

New cards!!

A box arrived this week with a metric ton of sketch cards from Rittenhouse Archives!  These are for Andy's next card set with them, which I can't tell you about quite yet. :(  What I CAN tell you is that these cards are going to be VERY different from the cards you are all used to seeing him produce.

Still working on getting those Fantastic Four and Batman Archives images ready to upload!  Keep checking back!

Happy Autumn!

Hey, what's up with the website, we both said.  We each looked at the other expectantly until I realized that I'm supposed to do that.  Right!  Forgot.

So, let me update our three visitors on what's happening in Andy-ville:

  • Andy has completed and turned in all 250 of his cards for the Fantastic Four set (which will be released on 11/19/08!  See a preview of Andy's cards here.  Just find Andy's name on the list and mash your mouse on it.
  • Andy is a guest of Atlanta Super Con, which takes place November 21-23rd in, duh, Atlanta, GA.  He'll be selling prints of his work, as well as doing con-sketches AND con-sketch cards.  (Psst... if you want to get on the sketch list, visit the Artist Alley area as early as you can on Friday!)

Next update:  Andy's Batman Archives cards will hit the gallery here on andypriceart.com, so keep your eyes peeled.  Also, as soon as the FF cards are released, we'll add all 250 of those to the gallery.  Much to see, kids!

Fantastic Four Archives announced and Wonderfest '08 approaches!

Frontpagelogo
Ok, Rittenhouse has officially announced their upcoming Fantastic Four Archives set, so I guess it's safe to reveal that, once again, Andy will be churning out a ridiculous number of Sketchafex cards for this set.  So far he's contracted for 250 cards, but as quite often happens, they will probably ask him to pinch hit on another small chunk as the deadline approaches.  As always, we'll be posting scans of all Andy's cards as soon as we get the a-0k from Rittenhouse.

In other news, Andy will be appearing at Wonderfest '08 in Louisville, KY this weekend (July 19-20).  Since the 'Fest is a model kit/sci-fi/monster show, Andy gets to stretch his creative muscles and do some nice creepy work for his fans.  When we return from KY, we'll be sure to post any sketch goodies for you!

Chicago Wizard World recap

We're back!  Thanks to everyone who came by the table at the show this past weekend!  As usual, Andy was totally swamped with sketches... but he worked valiantly to finish everything by the end of the show.  It's true that the last sketch was being completed as they turned off the lights in the convention center Sunday evening... but it still counts!  This year was a record breaker, folks... Andy did a whopping 27 sketches in just over 3 days!  Monday he slept like the dead.

We saw lots of new faces this year, as well as our loyal regulars.  Those who perused the print books this past weekend got a sneak peak at Andy's upcoming Rittenhouse Archives Batman project for DC comics!  As soon as we get permission to do so, we'll post the entire library of Andy's Batman sketch cards right here!

In other news, it looks like we might be making a trip to California next year for Wizard World LA.  Nothing is in stone yet, but keep an eye out here for more info!  Since 2009 is the 40th birthday of Disneyland's Haunted Mansion ride, it's a good bet we'll be in California around that time, anway.

To tide you over until our next amazing update, here are two sketches Andy did on comic book covers this year.  Storm is from Motor City Comic Con, and Red Sonja is from Wizard World Chicago, both commissioned by the same fan.  Thanks, Darby!!

2008 Sketchbooks are here!

Ink_slings_2008_resized

The new sketchbooks for the 2008 convention season are finished and ready to go!  This year's book is 14 full color pages with a cover that has a mysterious blank space on it... hmmmm.  I wonder if you could get someone to sketch something there?

These books will go on sale next week at Wizard World Chicago... get 'em while they're hot!
